i think i'm a decent writer and i'm afraid to admit accept and embrace this fact.

because what if i don't live up to it? what if i do something great and can't do it again?

what if people are just gassing me up?

and then i go on encouraging others to do their best and fail to take the first step.

and weeks pass and i don't write. ugh.

geez. what can possibly say other then he's thee best, he's in a class of his own. i don't think i could ever considered him a "rapper", to me he's a lyricist, a talented writer, far from your average hip hop artist. his effortless lyricism is incomparable, he gets you to paint these incredible mental pictures. i can honestly say before he came along i wasn't interested in hip hop, i mean i listened to it, but i was incompetent of understanding it.

As I listened to a lecture with him featuring Dr. Cornell West he said a lot of things that stuck with me, for instance his humble words:

"...on one hand if i change for the worst i don't wanna be remembered, if i change for the better i just wanna be remembered as he did not lead them astray, not that he was nominated for multi grammy's, the songs, and his accolades, and what he has achieved on paper, its he did not lead them astray that's my fear, to lead astray, to create the cycle, the butterfly affect of me being the role model, the example of you doing wrong. i always say that if i tell a lie on my records and i sell a million records, then I've told a million lies, and then those million people who bought that record, those people ingested that, they internalized it, they saw it, they heard it, they felt it, it effected them, that 4 seconds which was the length of that lie, which they could have 4 seconds of the truth, that 4 seconds is gonna effect me, that 4 seconds speaks volumes way beyond the rest of the good, to me that 4 seconds outweighs the 6 mins, so for me its that he did not lead them astray, and if he led them astray I don't want to be remembered at all."

what could you possibly say after that, NOTHING.

now out of all the 95 songs i currently have in my itunes i have yet to find a FAVORITE song, but the very first song i ever heard was "he gets the girl", and my reaction was this is cool, not like anything I've really heard and from then on i put that song on every CD i made someone, so they could also be enlightened (lmfaooo)!!! well i am currently on a man hunt to find every song he has recorded as i said i have 95 lupe songs and counting, if you think you have something i haven't heard, please be kind and share the wealth..LoL
